The Association of Papal Knights and Medalists of Nigeria (APKMN) brings together lay faithful honoured by the Vatican in one of the Pontifical Orders — committed to greater service to the Church, the Holy See, and humanity.
The Pontifical Orders represent one of the highest and most prestigious distinctions the Pope — as Sovereign Prince of the Vatican City State — can bestow on an individual. They are granted in recognition of pre-eminent service to faith, community, and the Holy See.
The highest of the Pontifical Orders, reserved solely for reigning Sovereigns and Heads of State. Very rarely bestowed and only during significant state or official visits.

Founded in 2009 under the approval of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) and the Corporate Affairs Commission, the Association was formed to give Papal honourees the group cohesion to serve the Church in greater capacity.
We exist as a Peer Referent Group to help honourees carry out projects at Diocesan, Provincial and National levels — and to support one another in promoting Catholic life, faith, and service across Nigeria.
Members are encouraged not to see their Awards as an end in itself, but as a call to greater service to the Church and humanity.
Our Association exists to advance the honour, faith, and service that the Holy See recognises in its members — translating honour into action.
To support the mission of the Catholic Church in Nigeria through collective action at Diocesan, Provincial and National levels.
To act as a fraternity of honourees supporting one another in deeper Catholic life, faith and the practice of Christian virtue.
To undertake charitable initiatives — supporting Dioceses, communities, and the poor — funded collectively by the membership.
To strengthen the bond between Nigerian Catholic honourees and the Holy See through continued loyalty, prayer, and witness.
